A record number of 5,641 women have entered the ASICS Stockholm Marathon.

21,736 runners from 81 countries
The interest for ASICS Stockholm Marathon is greater than ever. 21,736 runners have registered this year and ?the number of participants has increased for the 17th consecutive year. Last year there were entries from 21,266 runners. Registration for the 35th ASICS Stockholm Marathon was closed by 7 January when the maximum of 21,500 runners was reached.
5,641 women have registered. The percentage of female runners is 26% - both figures are records for the race. 2,155 runners registered for the first ever Stockholm Marathon in 1979. Among them there were 69 female pioneers.
10,744 of the runners have never before finished the ASICS Stockholm Marathon. Many of them have run other marathon races.
22 runners have completed all previous 34 ASICS Stockholm Marathon.
157.475 runners have finished the ASICS Stockholm Marathon at least once since the first race in 1979. The total number of results (the total number of finishers) is 341,930.
The average age for a male runner is 41 years, for a female runner 38 years.
The minimum age for the ASICS Stockholm Marathon is 18 years. 85 of the runners are 20 years old or younger. 101 of the runners are 70 years old or older.
The ASICS Stockholm Marathon attracts participants from all over world. Of the 21,736 registered runners, 7,261 come from other countries than Sweden.
The largest group of international runners – 3,953 – come from Finland. Next is Germany with 489 runners, Great Britain 459, France 297, Norway 297, Italy 239, Denmark 231 and USA with 204 entered runners.
81 countries are represented in the 2013 marathon race.

Great races in Sweden 2013:
The 35th ASICS Stockholm Marathon will be an exiting race in a beautiful city with 21,500 runners from all over the world. Enthusiastic spectators line the route in the Swedish capital. At the finish in the classical 1912 Olympic Stadium thousands of fans greet the runners.

The first ever Stockholm Ultra Marathon will be on Sunday 4 August 2013. The race will have two distances; 50 km and 100 km. The course will run in the central parts of Stockholm.

This is the biggest sporting event in Sweden for women with 33,000 female runners and joggers of all ages. The 30th Tjejmilen will be staged on Saturday 7 September 2013.
Everyone loves the scenic course through the royal park ”Djurgården” in central Stockholm. The distance is 10,000 metres.
