Jordan win in cruel conditions
The 34th ASICS Stockholm Marathon was afflicted by the worst conditions ever. Unseasonal 3-4 degrees (C) and blasts of wind up to 18 meters/second attacked the runners, accompanied by persistent rain it all become a great ordeal.

Keep warm during the race
The weather forecast says that the temperature will be 8 degrees Celsius during Saturday, and this is a very chilly weather for the season. Normally it should be about 18 degrees. The coldest Stockholm Marathon ever is the 1987 race when it was 7 degrees.

Important points to consider before an endurance test
A marathon race over 42,195 metres is an endurance test. Don’t start the race if you are not completely healthy. It can be dangerous to run if you have a cold or feel under the weather.

21.266 runners from 83 countries have entered
The interest for the ASICS Stockholm Marathon is bigger than ever before. 21.266 runners have entered this years marathon race. It is the biggest number in the event’s 34 year long story. The number of participants is now rising for the 16th consecutive year. In 2011 there were 20.651 entered runners, and the year before the number was 20.136.

Race information ASICS Stockholm Marathon 2012
The 2012 ASICS Stockholm Marathon will take place on Saturday 2 June. The start is at 12.00. There will be two group starts with 10 minutes between, at 12.00 and 12.10. Entries from a record number of 21,122 runners representing 81 countries have been accepted.

21,122 runners from 78 countries
When registration for the 2012 ASICS Stockholm Marathon closed by 1 December, 21,122 runners had registered. This is a new record for the race. 20,651 runners registered for the 2011 marathon.
78 countries are represented on the startlist. 13,368 of the entrants come from Sweden, 7,754 from other countries. 26 per cent of the participants are women, 74 per cent are men.
