Seeding rules for ASICS Stockholm Marathon, 3 June 2017

Participants in ASICS Stockholm Marathon start in nine separate start groups. Start groups A to E start at 12:00 and F to J start at 12:10. The start group you are allocated is determined by several factors, which are explained below.

The table below gives a preliminary indication of start groups. The exact cut-off points are determined when start numbers are allocated in mid-April and that is done on the basis that all start groups are the same size. It reduces crowding and provides the best possible running experience. Performance qualifications change somewhat from year to year and depend on the runners who have entered and what performances they have achieved.

Previous results in ASICS Stockholm Marathon
Runners who have completed ASICS Stockholm Marathon 2015 and/or 2016 will be seeded according to their best time these two years. If there is another better result, this will also be taken into consideration. Check your time with the table to get an idea of which start group you will be allocated.

Other marathons and half marathons
Runners who have completed a certified marathon or half marathon between 1 Jan 2016 and 10 April 2017 and who have not already recorded their performance on their registration can be re-seeded to an earlier start group. Email, giving your name and your new performance.

If you achieve a valid performance after 10 April, we can re-seed you at ASICS Stockholm Marathon’s number bib distribution. Go to the Information Desk and we will help you there.

The following times apply for the different start groups:
