Race bib, kit bag & Expo

Race bib, kit bag and exhibitors at adidas Stockholm Marathon Expo

Welcome to soak up the fantastic running atmosphere when you collect your race bib and kit bag at adidas Stockholm Marathon Expo. Show your start certificate on your mobile phone when collecting your race bib. If you are collecting a bib on behalf of a friend, you need to show that person’s start certificate.

Did you know that the Expo is open to the public? You are very welcome to bring family, friends and colleagues and enjoy the Expo atmosphere. However, we kindly ask all Expo visitors to avoid bringing bags, and to be aware that larger bags may be searched by security staff. Thank you for your understanding.

Please allow some extra time at the Expo so you can take advantage of all offers from our partners.

A large adidas sports store will be located inside the Expo, where you can buy shoes, clothing and accessories. Outside, there will be food trucks where you can buy coffee, snacks and food.

Do you have a child taking part in Mini Marathon on May 31? You can also collect the child’s race bib and T-shirt at the Expo on Thursday and Friday, but not on Saturday, at the clearly marked desks by showing the Mini Marathon start certificate. Please note that this does not apply to Leo’s Minsta Maran; that T-shirt can only be collected at the race start area at Östermalms IP on May 31.

If you collect your race bib on Thursday or Friday, you can also visit the Zeta Pasta Party at Stockholm Stadium on Friday between 12:00 and 20:00. You will receive your pasta party ticket at the Expo, and subject to availability, others can also buy a ticket for SEK 100 / EUR 10 at the Expo.

Race bibs are only distributed during the Expo opening hours and are printed live on site. There will be large crowds at the Expo on all days, as we expect around 30,000 visitors. Historically, it has been somewhat quieter during daytime hours, with higher attendance on the late afternoon after 16.00 and on race day. Please plan your visit accordingly and allow plenty of time. We recommend that those who are able collect thier bib on Thursday or Friday.

Expo opening hours
Thursday, May 28: 12:00–19:00
Friday, May 29: 10:00–20:00
Saturday, May 30: 08:30–11:30
Location: Lejonhallen, Östermalms IP

Race bib & kit bag

At the race bib pick-up, you will receive your race bib and a large bag, called a kit bag, with a self-adhesive label showing your start number. Use this bag if you want to drop off a change of clothes and valuables at Östermalms IP. Please note that there is a bag ban at Östermalms IP on Saturday, May 30. However, as a participant, you are allowed to bring your kit bag containing any change of clothes and outerwear into the arenas. Show your race bib at the entrance.

Please note that your race bib:
• Is personal and may not be transferred to another runner.
• Must be fully visible on your chest throughout the race.
• Has a letter, A–J, indicating your start group.
• Has a back side where you should fill in your name, the phone number of a next of kin, and any medication or medical condition. This helps our first-aid staff if you experience problems during the race.
• Has the timing chip attached to the back. Be careful not to damage the chip with safety pins or anything else. The chip is water-resistant but not waterproof, so make sure not to soak it in liquid. The race bib must be worn as the outermost layer; you may not wear anything over the bib, including hydration systems.

Getting here – travelling by public transport

Expo May 28-29
The metro and buses are the best and most environmentally friendly ways to get to adidas Stockholm Marathon Expo. Another sustainable and pleasant way to get here is by bicycle, and you may park your bike outside the Expo, except on Saturday.

The easiest way to get to the Expo is to take metro red line 14 towards Mörby centrum and get off at Stadion or Tekniska Högskolan. The walk to the event area is equally short from both stations. You can find SL’s travel planner at sl.se or mobil.sl.se.

The start and Expo, May 30
If you are collecting your race bib on Saturday, the best option is to travel to Tekniska Högskolan and then walk through Lill-Jansskogen to Östermalms IP. This is the smoothest way to enter the Expo from the correct side of the sports ground. Lidingövägen will be closed for access to the Expo, and only runners who have already collected their race bib will enter Östermalms IP via the Runners’ Gate on Lidingövägen.

Runners travelling to the start by public transport have several options. You can get off at Tekniska Högskolan, Gärdet, Karlaplan or Stadion. Please encourage your family and supporters to choose stations other than Stadion to reduce pressure on that station.

Leave your car at home or park at one of Stockholm’s park-and-ride facilities. You can download (coming soon) a parking permit that is valid as a parking ticket on May 30–31, 2026, at the park-and-ride facilities marked on the permit.

After finishing
Runners leaving Östermalms IP will have several public transport options. We ask everyone to avoid Stadion metro station if their legs are feeling okay, and instead choose Gärdet or Karlaplan stations. Please note that Stadion metro station may be closed for entry during certain periods to avoid crowding on the metro line serving Stadion.

Taxi
Do you need a taxi? Because of road closures for the race on May 30, it will be difficult for taxis to reach the event area. The easiest option is to order your taxi to or from Storängsvägen, by the turning area. It is approximately a five-minute walk from Östermalms IP.

Zeta Pasta Party at Stockholm Stadium
As usual, we will help you fuel up properly ahead of Saturday’s race. Join us as ZETA hosts a carb-loading pasta party for the fifteenth year at Stockholm Stadium. We will serve pasta, drinks and great entertainment from the stage by the Marathon Gate.

The ZETA Pasta Party is open from 12:00 to 20:00 on Friday, May 29. If you collect your race bib on Thursday or Friday, you will also receive your pasta ticket. Follow the map on the back of the ticket to the party.

Östermalms IP

Clothing drop-off

Use the transparent kit bag and the self-adhesive baggage label you receive when collecting your race bib to drop off your outerwear before the start. Please avoid bringing valuables to the event if possible.

Do not leave any closed bag inside your kit bag; the contents must be fully visible. Only the designated kit bag for your clothes and personal belongings will be accepted inside Östermalms IP, and it must be dropped off no later than 11:00 before the start. Other bags will not be allowed into Östermalms IP, but there will be a separate bag drop just outside Östermalms IP; see map.

After the race, you can collect your kit bag from the same place where you dropped it off, by showing your race bib.

Changing facilities
Seeded elite runners, both men and women, in start group A will change at Stockholm Stadium. Runners in start group B will change at Idrottshögskolan, just behind Stockholm Stadium. Other male and female runners in start groups C–J can use the changing rooms at Östermalms IP. The changing rooms are open from 09:00 to 19:00 on May 30. Do not leave anything behind in the changing rooms; use the clothing drop-off for your belongings.

Assembly before the start

  • All other runners in groups B–J will assemble at Östermalms IP from 09:00. At 10:45, the entrances to the start pens on Lidingövägen will open. You must be in your start pen no later than 11:45 for start groups A–E and no later than 11:55 for start groups F–J. All exits to the start pens are from Östermalms IP, and each start group has its own start pen on Lidingövägen.
  • Groups B and C go straight out towards Lidingövägen.
  • Groups D and E go out to the left of the yellow building in the oak grove.
  • Groups F–J go out through the gate to the right of Lejonhallen, towards Ryttarstadion.

All runners must be in their start pen no later than 15 minutes before their respective start time. At the different start pens, there are fluid stations on the pavement on the right-hand side, towards Östermalms IP, and toilets on the left-hand side of Lidingövägen in the running direction.

adidas Stockholm Marathon

Split times & cut-off times

Split times
At 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, 20 km, 21.1 km, 25 km, 30 km, 35 km and 40 km, timing displays will be placed on the right- or left-hand side of the street so you can check your passing time. Please note that the clocks start at the first start time, 12:00. This means that if you start in the second wave at 12:08, you should subtract 8 minutes from the time shown, and if you start in the third wave at 12:16, you should subtract 16 minutes from the time shown.

Your split times will be recorded at these points and will later be available in the results list on the website. The split times will also appear on the diploma you can download from the race website after finishing.

Cut-off times on the course – you may need to withdraw from the race

The maximum time for the race is 6.5 hours, in accordance with the permit from the Swedish Police Authority. Along the course, there are four control points with cut-off times that you, as a runner, must pass before the stated time in order to continue the race. Please note that these times apply regardless of when you crossed the start line and mean that we will close sections of the course at these times. This is because we are only permitted to keep the course open for a certain period, out of respect for the city’s residents and public services.

The maximum time of 6.5 hours therefore only applies if you meet the following cut-off times:

  • 21.1 km – Slussen no later than 15:35
  • 27 km – Heleneborgsgatan no later than 16:25
  • 32 km – Fleminggatan no later than 17:15
  • 35.5 km – Vasagatan/Tegelbacken no later than 17:45

If you are forced to withdraw from the race, you can get transport from the nearest fluid station. Runners who do not meet the maximum time at one of the four cut-off points will also be transported back to a location near Stockholm Stadium/Östermalms IP. You can also take the metro back to Stadion if you have an SL Access card, payment card or mobile phone with you.

adidas Stockholm Marathon

Pacers

Pacers

Are you unsure what pace to maintain during the race? Garmin’s pacers can help you find the right speed. Join one of the experienced marathon runners who will run the race at an even pace, targeting finish times from 3 hours to 5 hours and 45 minutes. The pacers adapt their pace to the course profile, which means that the average pace may sometimes be slightly faster or slower than the overall average pace needed to reach the target finish time.

The pacers also adjust their speed at the fluid and energy stations to allow a little extra time for you to take in fluids and energy. The pacers run at paces corresponding to the following finish times, calculated according to “gun time”, meaning from the starting signal for each start wave to crossing the finish line.

Finish time Pace Flag colour Start groups
3:00 4:16 min/km Black B, C
3:15 4:37 min/km Red B, C
3:30 4:58 min/km Grey C, D, E
3:45 5:20 min/km Orange D, E, F
4:00 5:41 min/km White F, G
4:15 6:03 min/km Yellow G, H
4:30 6:24 min/km Black G, H
4:45 6:45 min/km Red H, J
5:00 7:06 min/km Grey H, J
5:15 7:28 min/km Orange J
5:30 7:49 min/km White J
5:45 8:10 min/km Yellow J

The flag attached to the pacer’s back shows the finish time they are aiming for, and the race bib on their back shows the start time.

At Garmin’s booth at adidas Stockholm Marathon Expo, you can pick up pace bands to help you keep track of your kilometre times.

During the race

Cooling & personal refreshment service

Cooling before the stations
Just before the hydration stations, there will be an opportunity to cool down first with showers or through channels of running water. This is perfect, for example, for dipping your running cap.

The cups used for serving drinks at the hydration stations are intended for drinking from, not for rinsing yourself off.

Personal refreshment service
For those who want the best possible conditions during the race, we recommend stopping to drink at every station and adding Enervit’s personal refreshment service, which is offered at 6.6 km, 15 km and 37.6 km. If you missed adding it when registering, you can buy it at Enervit’s booth at the Expo. This is also where you collect the armband you need to wear in order to receive the personal refreshment service along the course.

After the race

Finish & post-finish services

Finish – Stockholm Stadium
Immediately after finishing at Stockholm Stadium, you will receive your well-deserved medal. Directly outside the Clock Tower at the stadium, 150 metres after the finish line, you will receive a water bottle that you are welcome to keep and refill at water stations on the way down to Östermalms IP and inside the service area. Please do not stop at the finish line; the best recovery is to keep walking directly to Östermalms IP and the post-finish services.

All finishers can download their diploma from the adidas Stockholm Marathon website after the race. Honorary prizes for the best male and female runners will be awarded at Stockholm Stadium immediately after the race. In addition, the top three runners in each age category will receive a prize, which will be sent out after the race.

Post-finish services – Östermalms IP, open only to participants

After finishing, continue to Östermalms IP, 300 metres away, where you will receive your adidas Stockholm Marathon 2026 finisher T-shirt. Results services will be located next to the T-shirt distribution.

  • Once you have collected your T-shirt and your finish bag with energy products, you will also be offered water, soft drinks, snacks, coffee, a bun, fruit, sausage with bread, and non-alcoholic beer to refill your energy stores. There will be plenty of time and space to relax and chat after the race.
  • As a participant, you will see security staff, first-aid teams and security guards.

Please note: Only participants are allowed at Östermalms IP before and after the race on Saturday. You can meet family and friends on Lidingövägen outside Stockholm Stadium after you have left the post-finish service area at Östermalms IP. Special flags with the letters A–F will be set up to make it easier for you to decide where to meet.

Foot care and massage
Before the race, foot therapists from Axelsons Gymnastiska Institut will offer foot care as well as foot and lower-leg massage at Östermalms IP. After the race, massage will be offered at Östermalms IP.

After the race

Results & live results

Results
Split times and preliminary results will be available at stockholmmarathon.se during the race. The official results list will be published just over one week after the race.

Live results during the race

Other information

Photos
adidas Stockholm Marathon will have four official photographers on site. Photos from these photographers will be published in the photo album on the event’s Facebook page in the days after the race. In addition, MarathonFoto will be along the course, capturing your Stockholm Marathon experience. Be sure to have your bib visible and keep an eye out for their photographers in the bright colored vests along the way. After your race, access your photos online here and check out the photo packages available for purchase.

Waste sorting
Marathongruppen and Sortera have worked together for several years to make our events more sustainable. At our event areas, there are sorting stations where you sort what you want to throw away into different waste fractions. This means you may need to walk a few extra metres to reach a sorting station at our event areas. Along the course, stations for cups and residual waste are available as usual at our fluid and energy stations, as well as at the designated additional Waste Zones to which we direct you.

Thank you for always looking for Sortera’s green bags when you need to throw something away. It makes our clean-up work easier and makes you an important part of our sustainability efforts in collaboration with Sortera.

Safety measures
To ensure that you as a participant, together with race officials and spectators, feel safe during your time at our event, we as organisers carry out a number of safety measures.

At Östermalms IP, which is the assembly and service area for participants before the start and after the finish, access is limited to participants, working race officials and staff only. Spectators and family members are directed to the meeting points on Lidingövägen, just outside Stockholm Stadium, where you can meet after the race.

Runners may not bring bags, such as backpacks, to the start pens, and it is only permitted to take part in the race with a hydration backpack or hydration belt. As a runner, you may not cover your face during the race, and your race bib must be clearly visible on your chest throughout the race.

At Stockholm Stadium, we allow bags up to the size of “cabin baggage” as defined by the current IATA standard, a voluntary agreement between airlines, where the bag/cabin baggage may be no larger than 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. For larger bags, we offer a bag drop on Valhallavägen directly adjacent to the stadium. Exceptions are made for bags brought for medical reasons and changing bags accompanying a child.

We will have staffed entrances and exits with checks from the time we open Stockholm Stadium to spectators at 12:15. The public entrances are located on the short side facing Valhallavägen via the so-called Marathon Gate, as well as at two entrances from Lidingövägen. See map of Stockholm Stadium.

As a participant, you will see security staff, first-aid teams and security guards around and inside the arenas on May 30. Always turn to them or to our race officials if you have a question or find yourself in a situation that makes you feel unsure in any way. They are there for you.
