Welcome to adidas Stockholm Marathon 2025

 

The following is information which applies to the elite field.

 

START LIST: Numbers 1-200 are seeded men and 201–400 seeded women.

 

SPECIAL DRINKS: These must be left at the Clock Tower of Stockholm Stadium (Lidingövägen side) between 08.30 and 09.30 on 31 MAY. Mark your bottles clearly with your start number.  There is a box for every refreshment station.

 

REFRESHMENT STATIONS

There are 17 refreshment stations. At refreshment stations 1, 3, 9, 12, 14 and 16 only water is provided. At all other refreshment stations, the sports drink Enervit Sport Isotonic, orange flavour, will be provided.  Enervit will be on the first set of tables and water on the second set.

  6. 12,9 km – Valhallavägen

  8. 17,4 km – Biskopsudden
  9. 20,2km – Nordiska Museet
  10. 22,5 km – Skeppsbron
  11. 25,5 km – Magnus Ladulåsgatan
  12. 27,9 km – Varvsgatan
  13. 30,1 km – Rålambshovsparken
  14. 32,2 km – Fleminggatan
  15. 34 km – Torsgatan
  16. 37,4 km – Skeppsbron
  17. 40 km – Karlaplan

 

Special drinks will be placed on a separate table before the tables of Enervit and water. Your coach or other support is permitted to hand you a drink within 200m before or 200M after these tables.

It is forbidden to receive drinks on any other part of the course.

 

COACHES: Accreditation for coaches of elite athletes staying at Scandic Star Sollentuna Hotel can be collected there.  Other elite coaches collect their accreditation from the adidas Stockholm Marathon Expo, Lejonhallen,  Östermalms Sports Ground, Saturday 31 May between 8:00 and 11:00. Accreditation gives the coach access to the Stadium, including infield, Östermalms sports ground and the Marathon course.

It is not permitted for trainers/coaches to ride bicycles on the track.

 

CHANGING ROOMS: Seeded runners can use the changing rooms at Stockholm Stadium, under the North Stand.  

 

VALUABLES: Can be handed in to the ’dommarrumet’ (referees’ room) in the same corridor as the changing rooms.

 

NUMBER BIB: Your number bib must be attached to your chest, and visible during the whole race.

 

WARM-UP: Inside the Stadium or in Lill-Janskogen forest outside. Last calling at 11:45 by the Clock Tower in the Stadium then runners will be brought to the start area.

 

START: The race starts at 12:00. All elite runners must assemble behind the start line by 11:55. The start is on Lidingövägen outside Östermalms sports ground.

 

FIRST START GROUP: All international elite runners start in the first start group together with the runners in the Swedish Championships.

 

PACEMAKING

The organiser will provide a pacemaker for the leading men and he will wear a bib on the front with the word PACE. All other pacing is forbidden and will result in disqualification.

 

This includes:

  • A male runner acting as a pacemaker for a woman
  • Protecting a runner from the wind
  • Collecting drinks for another runner from refreshment stations or from along the course
  • Or any other way which helps another runner at the cost of fellow-competitors

 

It is also forbidden for coaches to cycle on the course.

 

SHOES: The soles of the competition shoes (including insole) must not be more than 40 mm.  World Athletics list of approved shoes for road running can be found HERE (updated 20 January 2024).  Spot checks will be carried out at the race.

 

DOPING CONTROL: A number of runners will be selected for doping control after the race.

 

COMPETITION RULES: The race is organised in accordance with the rules of the Swedish Athletics Federation and World Athletics. 

It is important to note that the use of electronic equipment is forbidden.  This includes, for example, mobile phones/music with headphones in the competition area and on the course.

Breaking this rule can lead to disqualification and the non-payment of prize money.

 

AWARDS CEREMONY: There will be an awards ceremony at 15:00 in the arena for:

– first 3 men and women in the race

– first 3 men and women in the Swedish Championships. 

 

ELITE ATHLETES’ TENT:  This is on the infield after the finish line and you can go there to collect water and your goodie bag.

If you finish in place 4 to 30, you will receive a voucher at the finish line to collect a prize which is also in the elite athletes’ tent.
